Pretty sure 6’ draft is not an issue. Re inside—Make sure you are looking at the ‘new’
charts, NOAA issued an update 6 months or so ago. IIRC per the old
charts we had been sailing over a shoal that was dry at low tide for several years...
And the inlet itself sb fine. Probably 10’ controlling
depth or better. Just pay attention to the inlet bouys inside the jetty. And I don’t recommend it on a nor’easter.
The bridge opens on demand 24/7.
Primary issues relate to timing the tides to get in and out of slip — closer to slack the better.
There are a couple of other
marinas in Avalon (commodore. ?) and sea isle that have sailboats. I believe the ones ‘further’ removed from the
icw are less affected by the
current.
