Identify this dripless seal

Can anyone identify the manufacturer of this dripless seal ?

Older style Lasdrop

Use to have one. Switched the bellows(shown in pic) to the orange heavier duty usually used for high speed planning craft. Worked great for decades

There are so many different models and specs for these things. Would you remember a model number or at least the year of purchase ? This is on a 2006 boat, does that jive ?

I installed my in the 80's using the standard sailing unit but the next time i hauled i upgraded to the orange bellows which was bullet proof.

I think lasdrop is still in business. Have you tried to contact them?

Got a few responses to my emails and it turns out it is an older Lasdrop unit from the early 90's. As the boat was built in 2006 it must have been old stock at the time. Although it's working fine it's too critical a part to have such an old one in place. It will be first on my hit list at next haulout.

I agree it's a. very important item but I suggest you look at what is currently available. We switched out to a PSS shaft log many years ago and the thickness of the bellows worries me. It's about 1/4 of the thickness with what you currently have. I asked PSS is they had a heavier bellows I could use instead. There answer years ago was no.

I have a rebuild kit waiting for the next time we haul as it's been about 8 years since we switched out. I would look to see what lasdrop has available now.

Thanks. I think I'll stick with Lasdrop. This PDQ owners thread on PSS does not inspire confidence.
