Island Packet 38, 360 or 370. They are beamy and spacious, and blue water ocean crossers.

Misses the financial requirement of under $80k. IP360 are over $200k and most IP38 are over $100k. Anything is possible if money is no object.

Beneteau 361 had a forepeak v berth that would take a 6ft person, but I don't know how large you want.

Seems to fit all your other requirements, but it is a lot smaller than the 430!

The latest Beneteau 35 is available with a 3 cabin option and has quite a lot of room but would probably be well outside your budget.

The 36i works fine, also the front cabin. Yes, it you plan to be six persons onboard it will be not so much space. But if the need for three cabins are for two kids haveing one each and parents in front - all three Jeanneau models works fine.

Used sailing yachts JEANNEAU SUN ODYSSEY 36 I PERFORMANCE - SUN ODYSSEY 36 I PERFORMANCE for sale MENTON (FRANCE) | EYB

Used sailing yachts JEANNEAU SUN ODYSSEY 37 - SUN ODYSSEY 37 for sale BORMES LES MIMOSAS (FRANCE) | EYB

Hard to get better for the bucks - and if you care for quality - forget Bavaria. If you like to sail - forget Hunter as they are better for living onboard in the marina..

Oh you've opened the can of worms now :-)

I felt the same way once, check out "Hunter, really?" on sailingohana.com "for the rest of the story" on that question ;-)

All the Euro boats would be the dual aft cabin (3 cabin) layout. Beneteau, Jeanneau, Bavaria, etc.

Well, that's one problem right there - you simply aren't going to find a large forward berth on any boat 40' or less. Instead you get the pointiest of pointy bunks!

The exception are boats with a forward pullman, but off the top of my head I can't think of any in the 36' range. At least not any that would also have twin aft cabins.
