Filling in a rot hole

Hello,

I have some rot in a piece of cabin siding that is pretty large (6-10cm across). I have halted the spread of it by covering my cockpit with a tarp over this last winter so it has dried out considerably but repairing it could be tricky. I have used gitrot before successfully however in this case, it is vertical and if I were to pour anything into the hole, it would ooze out all over and do nothing.

Short of tearing the board up and making some rather expensive and extensive repairs, is there a good way of setting up a boundary on the wood to hold in the gitrot?

I have attached a handdrawn picture to show what it looks like...

Cheers!
