Dufour 48 Prestige

I have 30 years sailing in the pacific, crossing to hawaii and back, up and down the coast and I am looking for a larger boat to cruise in about three yuears. I currently have a Cal 39 mark 3 setup for offshore in great shape.

I am looking at a Dufour 48 Presitige and can't find anything on the web. No manuals, no-one blogging as they sail around the world, not comments on the build, materials (through hulls, 50HP engine in a 15 ton boat?, what has a problems, were they built for EU and so wiring and voltages are not right for the US...)

There doesn't seem to be many on the market. People like them or they all are gone?

Wondering if anyone has any ideas on where to get more information. Google is not working.

The Dufour 48 is a boat I had done some previous research on for my own purposes.

There is basic info online in a variety of places.

FYI: Sailboat Data says 60 hp, not 50 hp for the engine. I have seen it described as a Volvo 60 hp.

IF you want owner opinions and cannot find any here on CF, then I suggest you contact one of the several charter companies who have used the Dufour 48 in their fleets, and ask them for common issues with those boats. You can find those charter companies by using Google to search for the Dufour 48 boats, then look for those links to the charter sites. Some will be in French language.

Thanks for the feedback. That is the boat I am looking at.

Sailboatdata is my go to but no half hulls, rig specs, etc. I was able to get data from Dufour USA though.

Good looking boat. Galley a little small, single now roller, foam core hull (over an inch thick, hand laid fiberglass, and not a liner boat from what I can tell.

The engine seems to have to ratings.

Single now roller but it all looks workable and faster than my Perry 47.
