Boom vang watkins location

Hey I have a novice question. I just purchased a Watkins 24 ft sailboat that had recently been sailed in his completely outfitted, sails and all. After I installed the mast and all the standing rigging etc I could find nothing that looks like a boom vang and I'm a bit confused. Is it possible that there is no boom bang on this vessel? Or is there some other way that some sort of lashing etc would act as a boom vang?

Boom vangs are not required equipment, though they're generally smart to have. Sometimes they are just a tackle that clips onto a strap that goes around the boom and hooks onto the toerail at the other end. You can have one without it being permanently rigged.
