Florida to French Polynesia

Seeking crew for passage from Florida Keys to French Polynesia. 50’ Outremer catamaran. This is not a paid position. My wife will be joining the boat by air in French Polynesia hence the need for assistance in getting there. Timeline: departing Florida mid-March, departing Panama mid-April, Arriving French Polynesia early May. Private cabin and bath provided. The ideal candidates would be a couple with at least one person speaking French as would be able to share a cabin. But all applicants will be considered. English will be the primary language spoken on board. No smokers, no drugs on board. Must not be subject to seasickness. Must be capable of purchasing the bond when arriving in French Polynesia if traveling on a non EU passport. Special consideration will be given to crew able to help prepare the boat starting early January. Depending on skills this may include accommodation and most expenses paid. See links to YouTube and others for more information about previous pacific crossings.

Re: Florida to French Polynesia

Hello Dave

Planning to be in Florida next few weeks with rental car as I have family and friends on the Gulf coast.

Experienced mariner here. Well traveled, clean fit, professional nonsmoking sailor looking to get more offshore time. Your schedule matches mine serendipitously well and would like to meet up or phone talk to see if I may be of assistance in your plans and voyage.

Thanks for your consideration
Eric Ps-first time on this site so need to find the PM option.

Thanks for all your replies and messages. Unfortunately, it’s looking like I will not be able to get the boat ready to go this season. Shame as I have a long, stay visa for French Polynesia but boat projects, sometimes take longer than you might expect.
Still working hard to see if I might be able to make it, but will repost if it’s looking like I will.

Re: Florida to French Polynesia

My wife and I (20 years of sailing and power boating experience mainly in the Pacific Northwest, physician able to deal with medical issues we hope to avoid, some French, US and EU passport) are interested in learning more about the Panama to French Polynesia leg. Using this forum for the first time - hope we connect to discuss details. Thanks.
