Sailing From Panama To Ecuador and Stopping in Colombia

Does anyone stop in Colombia when sailing between Panama and Ecuador? If not, why not? If yes, I would love any information you can provide. We are planning to make that sail this spring/summer and have been unable to locate much of anything in the way of information about sailing the Pacific coast of Colombia. It is my understanding that the drug violence has decreased significantly in the last few years. I would love to stop in Colombia unless there is a good reason not to - it seems like a shame to miss it. We have been travelling in Mexico and have always felt completely safe despite dire warnings from the American media and government. Any information that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciately.

Very little wind down that coast. Google Annie Hall. She has sailed the whole west coast of S.America. I would love to do that trip myself ,-- Fernandes,Easter Is. Pitcairn,Tuamotus from bottom to top. Ahh so much ocean, so little time. !
