ST1000+ compass replacement
Just bought a small boat with a new-looking Raymarine ST1000+ tillerpilot. Doesn’t work.

It fires up, and I can use the buttons to extend and retract the arm, so that works, but when put in auto and turned, nothing happens. So my guess is the compass is bad.

Opened it up. Looks new, worm gear perfect. Checked the compass connections and all seems good.

I can buy a new fluxgate compass for it for about $130. Has anyone done this repair? Did It work? Other things to try?
