For my 50' Beneteau, would either of these be a useful line to have? Or is 5/8 too thin to be of use to me? I'm thinking that if I really need extra anchor line, it will be at a time that I'll really need to have that line handle lots of strain.

Second question: Is this line going to be strong enough to tow another sailboat, say a 40-45 foot boat? That could be a reason to have such a line.

Others can chip in of course, but my personal opinion is that it might be a bit light for a 50 footer. More importantly, there is no information on brand of rope and that can make a huge difference. In the past I've bought rope such as listed and frankly I didn't like it. Some was way too soft and even with an extra tuck or two in the splices left me wondering. None of it lasted very long.

For my money, when I get another rode, I'll get New England Ropes stuff. Long lasting and, for me, more peace of mind.
