Paint

We have just purchased our first cat and she is due for bottom paint. One of the marinas is using Horizons bottom paint. Does anyone have experience with this brand? (He told us that they formerly used Interlux Micron CFC but Interlux didn't stand behind their paint on a job they did a while back.)

It's always a good idea to put your location (and your boat type/model etc.) with your avatar. In this case the most likely response will be for you to ask other local boaters what paint works best for your type of boating in your area.

Having said that I have no experience with the paint you mentioned.

We are presently living in Cape Coral, FL. We plan to spend the next 2 years island hopping. Present plans are to head to the Bahamas and either head towards the BVI or head south to Aruba to be out of the hurricane zone. The boat has already had ablative paint and we plan to stay with ablative paint. However we don't no much about the Pettit Horizons brand and wanted to see what other owners think of that brand of paint.

We had petit ultima 60 ssr for four years in the western Carib and tx gulf coast. But it's a different paint than the horizons stuff......so I think I like petit....but maybe not.
