Maine Rules for Covid?

Hi,

Can anyone fill me in on the Maine Covid rules as of today?

Most places I’ve been in the northeast are open and don’t have quarantine rules in effect. All I’m finding on Maine says it’s got a 14 day quarantine up for travelers except those from NH and VT. Is that accurate??

It also suggests getting tested before leaving to avoid the quarantine which I’m not sure is a brilliant move for visiting boaters since going ashore and to medical facilities is exactly how we’d catch it.

Who from Maine has the good word on the Maine rules as of today? When will these change in the coming weeks?

We were all prepared to do an overnight up there and saw this stuff online.

Lolz

Are you sick?

If no, just carry on.

I’d yes, stay at home

Same stuff as always.

Bill of rights same as always

Never answer questions, only ask them.

I’m sorry, what??

I’m looking for the current rules in Maine. The other states only have social distancing and masks but it looks like Maine is requiring a 14 day quarantine still.

Not looking for any Covid debates, politics or whatever.

Just trying to find out what to expect in Maine if we arrive this week.

Will we be stuck on the boat unable to use the dinghy docks to go on walks?

They can’t trespass on the bill of rights, frankly I wouldn’t follow any of that nonsense and I’d be happy to take it to the mat if they wanted to push it, every attempt that was challenged lost in court.

I’d just carry on, but that’s me

That sounds like a lousy way to spend a summer. I’d prefer to be sailing, exploring, checking out new Anchorages, having good food and hiking around.

Eastern philosophy is a better route. Don’t like the rules? Don’t go.

Does anyone have the latest in this? I know there are a lot of Maineacs on the board.

I enjoy all the same and don’t ask for permission where no permission is required

Hmmmm. I guess Maine is off the list this summer. Not going ashore to places where they are testing people who are sick and think they have Covid. Yikes!

I have underlying lung issues. That’s an extremely unsafe thing to do.

Maine is nice, but definitely not risking my life to go there.

“Amendment 4
- Protection from Unreasonable Searches and Seizures

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched and the persons or things to be seized.”

What crime to they suspect you of committing?

Stop. Please.

This is not a political BS thread. There are plenty of those to waste your time with in the Covid Containment Area.

You haven’t posted anything about the current restrictions in Maine. If you are so upset about them, please at least post them. Otherwise, what are you even fighting against?

Are you in Maine? Did you travel there from a different state? What was it like when you arrived? Did you “press it to the mat” with the local harbormaster and local residents?

It will be interesting to see how the many people who went maskless to Trump’s rally in Tulsa and breathed in the greasy air of freedom fair in a couple weeks. That part of the country has the highest obesity and diabetes rates in the country. And possibly the stock market will rise high, as Elaines boss once commented.

Where are the admins who shouldn't let a real question devolve into politics?
