Re: Info Needed Transport Costs
I don't know if this helps you, but for my 30' Irwin the height was 10.5 ft. width was 10.5 ft (6ins. more than beam), and the weight I put at 11,000lbs. There were NO issues with anything. Good luck...I hope all works out well for your move and in the future...

Re: Info Needed Transport Costs
Old topic, I know. Looking at all of our options to find the right boat. Uship estimator says around $1500 to move a 37ft sailboat from Connecticut to South Florida. Obviously that seems a bit of a lowball. The boats are all on the hard and winterized, so it would just be stepping costs and some other sorting out.
Delivery quote from a Captain was around $500 a day plus expenses for two crew and 10 days depending on weather, which I would guess make it closer to 14 days.
Ill see what the Uship bids come in at and talk to the owners...

Re: Info Needed Transport Costs
Hi, Call this guy...Brad: 17065938428
Tell him Willie gave you his number. He moved my Irwin 30 from N.C. to Texas and it went perfectly!!! All for about $3.00 a mile plus unstepping mast(paid marina)...He took care of all the other loading related things. He is great. Sent me pix of the load and unload...I could not have been happier...still am obviously!
Good luck with your move...

You will find that uship estimator is not even close. It will be several times that, just for the trucking costs. This is a very specialized segment of the trucking industry. It will likely require escort cars, and certainly require oversized permits unless its beam is very narrow for a 37 footer.

For what it is worth. Jersey Shore to SC, ran, as I recall, $2300 on a truck.
That was about 35 years ago. 48 foot but I doubt that would be a significant difference. In the water I would guess is going to be your best bet.

35! That was with loading and chocking, and I think an escort for some states, I was not on that end just this end. About had a heart attack went told on this end my travel lift won't pick that up. The fine old guy did and told me years later he had to replace his straps. Today I'd probably hear kiss off, I have no idea what your going to do with the boat on that lowboy but get it out of my yard.
