I happen not to be a tea party member, but as an outsider looking in, I didn't interpret them as being quite that way. Are there particular events, statements or other indicators that pointed you to this interpretation of their core purpose?
Thanks,
Jim

Gadagirl can answer for herself, but I've know a few Tea Party people and without a doubt they have a religious agenda. They may not put in writing in their literature but it's there. Ask any how they feel about prayer in public schools or removing "under God" for government documents, etc.

Oh here we go again with the ever popular Christian bashing. One of the favorite sports on this forum. This should now be a contender for the 2013 maximum thread drift award. From gov shutdown effects on boaters to those evil fascist idiot Christians.
Time for a mod to close this one probably.

As an observer from across the border, I have a ??, when Mr Obama said on TV a couple of weeks ago, that raising the debt limit did not mean the Gov't was going more into debt, what does that mean ?

While I'm not a religious person myself, I think it unfair to dump the burden of 2000 years on anyone's shoulders. For crying out loud...tone it down a little.

But if my understanding of Virginia law is correct, you have unfettered access to birth control.
I understand concern regarding women's reproductive health,..I get it. I'm a woman. But I've had access to birth control since I was 17. One call to the county clinic and popping into the bus after school and bam... Pills in hand.

I'm a bit past that these days.
But I've paid for services at Planned Parenthood when I wasn't insured. My $$ helps those that can't pay.
