Dockage Tortola BVI

Looking at potential fractional on a Beneteau 38. Anyone have any ballpark numbers on annual costs for dockage / mooring etc in Tortola?

Thx
David

You'll be fortunate to find dock space on Tortolla unless you're putting boat in a charter.. Too many boats, not enough marinas. Nanny Cay is the obvious, but not cheap.

Thanks for the info. I suppose it would be easier to leave the boat in St Croix since there is a private mooring (Teague Bay) that is included.

Not a bad sail from St Croix to BVI's anyway, correct?

Not a hop you'd expect of the average credit card charterer. Not only the overnight but the mechanics of customs in and out of BVI and back into the US.

Re: Dockage Tortola BVI

would spend 8-10 days sailing BVI's so it wouldn't be a hectic pace. Last trip was from Gov Harbor Eleuthera to Ft Pierce, FL with a brief stop for "sleep" and fuel in the Berry's. Fun but interesting..........

If you'd be visiting for a week or so at a time, I wouldn't think its a sail you'd want to make each trip. It's not always going to be ideal conditions for that journey.

Re: Dockage Tortola BVI

so maybe St Thomas or St John would be a better option long term?

Re: Dockage Tortola BVI

It would certainly make spending time in the BVI much easier. But don't rule out the BVI - you'll just need to make some calls or send some emails. Nanny Cay might be an option, you also could look at Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbor.

St Thomas might be easier though for flying in and out.
