Where to Next?

So we finished our 1st bareboat Charter and we're "Hooked"!!!!

We went to the BVI in late June with Footloose through Virgin Island Sailing. What a Venue!! Breeze was 15-20 knots G25 all week. We were on a 44 foot Beneteau with 2 other couples.

It was a fantastic time. Footloose/Moorings were good. We had 1 issue where the prop shaft came loose from the motor and we had to sail into a mooring field but they had us fixed up and under way the next morning.

My wife did leave 3 of her dresses aboard when we departed - we stayed on Tortola a few extra days and footloose was "unable" to find them and gave us the "corporate" response, were not responsible for stuff you leave behind... - AKA one of the local's has them... but our bad for leaving them. It detracted a bit, but it was still a fantastic trip.

So - where to now? We would appreciate thoughts on what a good next destination would be.

Med, Tahiti ... the world is now your oyster. Congrats!

Loose prop shaft and the dresses gone wandering sounds normal...

Re: Where to Next?

My question is why take three dresses to the BVI? I would do the BVI a few more times then try the Grenadines. Out of St. Vincent or St. Lucia. Great sail down. A bit harder returning.

Re: Where to Next?

Ditto what Vasco said. The Grenadines are the next step for most charters after doing the BVIs. There are several charter operations out of Blue Lagoon on St Vincent, and the Moorings has boats on Canouan. Check airline access from your location--it's not as easy as getting to Tortola. If you start in St Lucia, you need to plan on at least 10 days, if not two weeks, to really do it justice.

You can use the custom search link in my sig line to find previous threads on charting in the Grenadines and suggested itineraries.
