That's not how it looked to us. We tried 2 different places and they chased us out. I would not leave our boat anchored out in the open alone to go ashore around there.

I have one more question. Triumphant and belizesailor both emphasized to stay away from the mainland of Honduras, don't even be within sight.

Why is that? Is it the government, drug trade issues, pirates?

I have read very few problems that are reported on line regarding issues with sailing the mainland of Honduras.
