The Turks and and Caicos asked to become a Canadian annexation in the late 80's. Sadly, the gov't at the time felt the islands weren't cold enough to qualify. The market for parkas, toques and long johns would be too weak to make it worth the paper work.

I have read that it also is very advantageous to actually register vs license your vessel.


Turks & Caicos would be awesome for the few hundred million it would cost us, mostly though Snowbirds are trying to buy up Arizona and Florida
