Florida to Puerto Rico

Looking for input regarding suggested route to follow to sail from FL to the NW coast of PR. Considering an end of March departure.

It would be wise to pick up a copy of the "Gentlemen's Guide to Passages South". You might also want to take a look at Bahamas and Caribbean Information, Boating Books, Cruising Guides . You might also find reading through Ocean Angel's trip to PR informative. See Dream of Sailing to the Caribbean

FWIW...

Re: Florida to Puerto Rico

OK - everyone wants to take the gentlemans guide south - let me offer an alternative

go thur the bahamas and then down thru the windward channel rounding haiti and stopping at the little island off haiti (it is safe and you do not have to check in unless you want to) then sail down the south coast of the dr making a few stops and then across the mona to the south coast of pr -

the south coast of dr offers a lot of stops

there are a couple of free cruising guides on line that are not bad - google them such as free cruising guide dr or pr ect

just our opinion
