Re: Florida Keys for the winter?

If you fly in through Miami, please stop by my store and say hello. We're only a couple of minutes from the airport. I'll give you some Cuban coffee. You won't have to waste time sleeping during your visit.

You could try Gilberts Marina on Jewfish Creek. It's just north of Key Largo. It's a liveaboard marina. Prices wern't to bad when I checked a couple of years ago.

Re: Florida Keys for the winter?

I used to take my mako from ocean reef to cactus jacks via jewfish creek. Fun ride, easy to get lost going north at night with a few cocktails under the belt (don't look at me funny it was a LONG time ago when I was too young to know how stupid I was er...am)

Scot, are you thinking of Alabama Jacks at the western end of the Card Sound bridge? Great place, still there.

Try harbor Cay Club in Marathon, great condo marina that rents slips for a reasonable price and it is secure.

No I meant cactus jacks, was a little place...it is or was a few hundred yards south of the Carribean club.

I have been to Alabama jacks once, not my favorite spot.

Re: Florida Keys for the winter?

Had to look up Cactus Jack's, sounds nice. I'll try it next time I go to the Key's.
Is there a law that everyone in the Keys named Jack has to have a strange nickname?
