Exuma Tide Info--Confusion

Ok---I have searched far and wide and still am confused.

Chartering power catamaran May-June 2018 from Nassau to G'town.

I've found somewhat reliable tide tables for Nassau....and the different sources I'm checking largely agree.

But as we travel down the Exumas, I'm having trouble finding tide table sources that agree for southern Exumas....specifically Steventon and/ or Georgetown.

I cannot find sources that agree and here's what I'm checking:

Navionincs App
Garmin App
NOAA
Worldwide Tides and Currents Predictor
Exuma May 2018 Tide Table

For the life of me I can't get the above to agree.

Any advice would be appreciated!!! As all of you know the weather, currents and swell in Exumas can make or break a day. (Sorry if this is covered in an earlier post).

With a power cat you should have no worries re current. Wind against the tide can cause some problems. Most places are within an hour of Nassau tides. GT is 30 mins to an hour later. Worry more about the wind and swell in the Sound. Can cause problems in the cuts.

Re: Exuma Tide Info--Confusion

Thanks Rick I.

Primary concerns aren't necessarlly navigating the cuts with rage/wind vs tide in as we plan to stay inside and not in Exuma Sound 99% of the time. We were more worried about accessing some "skinny water" areas like the 2 mile sandbar by Musha Cay, snorkeling some areas where current can mean its a no-go, timing grottos and caves at the correct tide, etc etc....so that's why I'm trying to nail down best source for tide tables.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

The best source is Nassau tides.

All other locations are either before or after. Times and heights are affected by local conditions. All differences are approximate and used as general guidelines. You have to be there to see what it is. . And the tides might not be favourable e.g. high being too early or too late in the day to explore certain areas.

Re: Exuma Tide Info--Confusion

IIRC Steve Pavlidis' Bahamas guides are very helpful in interpolating Nassau tides to other locations.
