All the above is good advice! I spend most of my time shuttling between the nations of
Grenada and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, so I make up several copies of the required documents for each country already filled out with information that won't change, such as
boat size, make of
engine, etc. Thus all I have to fill in each time is any changes in the crew list. Saves a lot of time and duplication of effort.
Above all look respectable, be courtious (you are a guest in their country after all), be patient and don't be afrade to ask for clarification if you don't understand something.
