Boca Chita Key MLW?

Any body been there? Did you go down the channel or anchor out. I keep reading diffrent mwl for the channel, some say 5.5 some say 3.5. I think Im going to drop an anchor and dingy in. Any good spots to anchor there?

You can anchor almost anywhere in Biscayne Bay and the holding is usually poor... 6 inches to a foot of sand on coral. Just stay out of the powerboat 'migration routes'.

5.5 ft at MLW would be very optimistic my Corsair drew 5.5 and I always went in and out with the board up. The rudder drew 4 ft and always cleared.

Yes I stayed there for 3 days last May/June. It is very very skinny but well marked. I would only go in at high tide. There is very little to do there, but it is very peaceful.

It is first come first serve to tie off on the bulk head. I would guess to say around 25 boats depending on size. You MUST pay the daily fee. It is on the honor system, but the park service checks nightly.

There is some good snorkling on the Atlantic side.

Once a day, the park service will open the "lighthouse" and give tours. Kinda fun.

There are Land Heads, but on holidays, are blocked up by early morning and the park service clears them out in the PM.

We had a great time as we were with a pretty large group.
