Re: Sardinia Squad

Hi there...we're currently in Aquadulce, Spain and thinking of heading to Sardinia Sept/Oct to over winter and then enjoy some cruising there next year.

The boat (Moody 44) will be left unattended for some time...Any thoughts on the best marinas to contact ?

Thanks,
Graeme

We haul our boat out and leave it on the hard at a first class, very secure shipyard in Olbia. The Nausika shipyard. You can PM me for details.

Take it out and forget about it.

Re: Sardinia Squad

We had a breakdown today which left us stranded without an engine and absolutely no wind for three hours drifting in the strait between Capri and the mainland. Charlie was able to Charlie rig our fuel system using a piece of old fuel hose I couldn't throw in the rubbish four weeks ago, and tonight we find ourselves anchored of the marvelous Amalfi coast. An unexpected surprise.

We should have everything repaired early Monday and be be back on our way to Stromboli.

Re: Sardinia Squad

Eventually they stopped us to tie the dinghy to the pier in San Paolo. We left yesterday for Golfo Aranci and are anchoring in 8 m on sand. There is a long catwalk with some ladders where one can go onshore.Click image for larger version

Re: Sardinia Squad

We were able to fly our spinnaker for five hours yesterday on our way down to the Aeolian Islands. What a beautiful day!

Re: Sardinia Squad

Spinnaker sailing is my favourite. When sailing in Morecambe Bay in the UK, I could regularly put up the Spinnaker and get pulled all the way to the Isle of Man or Ireland.... Such a great sail if conditions permit.

Glad you enjoyed...

Re: Sardinia Squad

I like these.... never owned one but have sailed on a catamaran being pulled by a huge parasail....

Work well..

That doesn't look like no spinnaker to me. Looks like a gennicker

Gennicker? Is that a rotating armature thingy that induces electrons? Electronic sailing?

We had to cut the spinnaker sailing a couple hours short when Charlie yelled "FISH ON!"
