I could need a little
advice on an
insurance question. I'm in the process of acquiring a 1977
Gulfstar 50 and keep her near Charleston, SC.
The PO has a
survey that is 2.5 years old and is not being accepted by the only
insurance company that gave me a quote. I plan on an extensive
refit, so the
boat will be in a marina that requires at least liability insurance.
I've been rejected by several other companies due to one or several factors:
* Boot is too large/old
* Boot is located in SC
* Will do liability on boats 30ft or smaller only
* No experience on
boat this size (I own a 34 foot boat currently)
Can anyone recommend a company I should try for liability only? I'd really like to avoid a
survey on a boat that I'd like surveyed after the
refit.
