Are you suggesting there was a second submarine, with other people in it, who were killed off while the "real" one snuck away?

Hey, I caught what you did there! I don't 'see' the point of the underwater lighting!

What were they claiming to be doing?

As for your theory on two submersible, post it up!

Re: Titanic tourist submersible goes missing

They just confirmed the root cause of the “Titan” implosion.
Evidently, OceanGate, when purchasing materials, misunderstood the term "substandard".
Evidently, their business is going under.

Well it seems to be normal standards. If you are building a SUB, don't you follow SUB standards? What am I missing? /sarc

3 other submersibles visiting Titanic almost suffered the same fate as Titan
Tragic loss of the OceanGate submersible follows a long line of close calls

“... Of the 10 submersibles in the world that can reach depths of 4,000 metres or greater, the Titan, owned by exploration company OceanGate Expeditions, was the only one that wasn't certified by any regulatory body ...
... Still, no matter how reliable the vehicle, diving to such extreme ocean depths is always risky. At least three previous expeditions to the Titanic had close calls that could have cost the crews their lives ...”

Re: Titanic tourist submersible goes missing

Last month, researchers revealed the first full-size, 3-dimentional, digital scan of the Titanic.
Previously, photos and videos captured, after the 1985 discovery of the site, were taken in pieces, and incomplete, then pieced together, by historians and scientists.

As a kid I used to dream about building a home-made submarine. I guess it's a good thing I never succeeded!
