In 2005, a new, shining anchor came to the marine market. The ULTRA Anchor quickly established a reputation for excellent holding power and its stainless steel look and finish. While most well-known anchors have evolved from the worldís established maritime nations, the ULTRA Anchor was first designed and manufactured by a little known Turkish engineering firm, based in Istanbul. Perhaps most importantly, it was the passion for engineering and boating of two men, Yılmaz Yucel and Nejat Ovutmen, which led to the development of an anchor that boasts the ultimate in holding power.

Formed in 2000, having been designing and manufacturing stainless steel machine parts since 1978, Boyut Marine changed its name to ULTRA Marine in 2012 after their ULTRA branded products become well known. ULTRA Marine moved into full-scale production, fabricating anchors from 316L stainless steel all completely by hand and in 2016 purchased its USA distribution QuicklineUSA and updated its name to Ultra Marine West.

Today, Yucel and Ovutmen remain, directors of the company with Yucelís sons, Erkutay Yucel and Erkay Yucel, managing international sales of their products.

Not a good look to post a contest and then have a dead link. Unless this was a DNS attack by some tech savvy disgruntled customer.

Re: New Ultra Marine West Giveaway!

I have an ultra anchor, and swivel.

Now I'd like at least one of these in the 100m length.

If you can dream it; with grit, you can do it.

Re: New Ultra Marine West Giveaway! would be nice to go with 70m so it doesn't get all rusty in the bottom of my boat for those windy days and for my stern anchor.

Re: New Ultra Marine West Giveaway!

I’d like this in 80kg.

Planned use - to anchor my boat to the seabed.

And a swivel.

Planned use: to swivel the anchor.

Re: New Ultra Marine West Giveaway!

I need the ULTRALine reel. I stern tie when I am in Desolation Sound in BC Canada. Hauling and storing 300' of regular floating line is cumbersome!

Re: New Ultra Marine West Giveaway!

What a great contest! 27 kg anchor

We made the mistake of starting our first year cruising with only one anchor and much like all the reviews it drags and is unable to reset in heavy weeds. Just to be sure we had to experience it ourselves and did not have a choice (no 2nd anchor), but to work at it until we could get it cleaned and re-set (always at night . . . in the rain and gusty wind to 30 knots). UFS10-35
What good is a 2nd anchor without a way to attach it to the rode? This looks like an amazing way to do it.

If the company is open to ideas - would love to see a better way to connect a catamaran bridle to the chain. The connection we use slips (easily) anytime the connection point becomes slack (resting on the bottom in a shallow anchorage, retrieving the anchor, re-setting during a current direction change, etc.)

Re: New Ultra Marine West Giveaway!

Sure could use some SS chain and a swivel to go with my Ultra Marine anchor. - 200feet
