Have a D400 which can charge both house and
engine battery banks via a diode splitter.
The D400 output is controlled by a 6TB
regulator.
My basic knowledge of electrics tells me that there is a about a 0.7 volt drop across a diode. The
regulator is factory set to output 14 to 14.2 volts, but is adjustable to allow
charging of different
battery types.
My question is can I increase the voltage output from the regulator to say 14.8 volts, to compensate for the voltage drop across the diode splitter, or, am I violating some fundamental principal of battery
charging by considering this
