Re: over & under zinced

My current boat is six months new to me and the diver is still commenting that the zincs are in good condition. To me, that is a long time in salt water, So. California, being at a dock with shore power that basically just charges the battery. The hardware isn't getting eaten up so the diver also says. So..I guess things are ok.
This boat is fiberglass but my past boats have been wood with galvanized fasteners. Those boats needed zincs every three months. That's why I'm a little apprehensive.

If you’re getting 6-9 months out of your shaft anodes, you’re doing fine. Every three months? That’s excessive, regardless of what the boat is built of.

For ultimate shore power isolation, Yandina now has the only 2.5 volt Galvanic Isolator at a price compatible with conventional 1.2 volt isolators.
