How do I test for AC fault leakage?

Do I just put a clamp meter on one of my grounding wires and measure current. Marina requires less than 100 milliamps of leakage and I can’t figure out how to test AC with the Google. DC I’ve found but not AC. Thanks!

You can clamp the entire shore power cord which will measure the leakage through the water back to shore. To measure leakage on the grounding conductor you need to clamp on the grounded and ungrounded conductors (hot and neutral). It's all explained here: https://www.marinadockage.com/techni...akage-current/

You could put the clamp meter (on its most sensitive setting)around both main live and neutral wire from the source, the result should be zero amps. Any reading would be leakage (amps going out of live wire but not returning on neutral wire).

My own clamp meter has 400a and 1000a settings, I certainly wouldn't trust it to read accurately in the mA range.
