Has anyone used a ProNautic battery charger?

Searching around, it appears that the specs on the ProNautic line of smart battery chargers looks good.
And the price is right.
Is anyone using this brand? Or have you heard any feedback on ProNautic?
I'd like some feedback before I buy.
thanks,

Re: Has anyone used a ProNautic battery charger?

I installed a new ProNautic 60 amp charger in 2010. It has worked without any problems at all. It charges 2 8-D and 1 grp 27 battery. I leave it on 24-7 while in the slip, while cruising it’s used when the generator is used typically 3 to 4 hours per day. I add water to the 8D batteries once a year and less than a quart for both. I do have the temperature wire attached to the house battery.

That brand (ProMariner), but not that model. Our original charger is an older ProTech-4, from a 2002 build. Still works fine. Would expect their newer models would offer some advantages.

We also recently installed a ProMariner Combi PSW inverter/charger; the price was right, and so far so good.

Thanks a lot for your inputs. I'll order one (or two) tonight.
I just didn't want to buy a pig in a poke without your input.

Same here. Works flawlessly so far, easily adjustable for exact absorption and float voltages if needed, built-in equalization mode. Much smarter charging programs and better voltage regulation than the dip-switch type Charles charger it replaced.

I put a 50A in our previous boat. It worked flawlessly, until we sold her, and I believe is still cranking along without any issues. Most of the series of chargers are rebadged Sterlings, distributed by Power Product LLC – who also brings us Ancor, Blue Sea Systems, Marinco, Mastervolt and many more.

I just got the 40 from Defender. I also got the remote control as my installation is behind my recently installed freezer. I’m replacing the original unit on my 1987. Also same company.

Re: Has anyone used a ProNautic battery charger?

No experience with anything else, but we have a ProNautic 12-10P and have been very happy with it (as in, haven't had to pay attention to it at all!). Wouldn't mind more than 10 amps, but other than that all good, boat sits for months plugged in and it hasn't cooked the batteries or anything like that.

My 30 A unit quit after 4 years. Replaced with a 40 A unit that seems to be doing well.

Re: Has anyone used a ProNautic battery charger?

Thanks for all of the replies. Due to the positive feelings about ProNautic, I ordered 2-50 amp chargers last night.

My thought process was that 2 will give me redundancy if 1 fails and an added benefit is that 2-50s are cheaper than 1-100 amp. And the difference in size makes it much easier to mount the smaller chargers.
