Flexible solar panels on coachhouse roof?

What do people here think of these?

I could get two of them on the roof of my coachhouse, where regular panels are a no-go because I would have to walk on them.

I don't think these, or the ones you linked to, would work well anywhere you needed to walk on them.

There are several companies marketing semi-flexible panels made for the marine market. One uses aluminum as the substrate, but others use a non metallic base. I think that would be better. All, unfortunately are priced out of the stratosphere.

I was wondering how these would work mounted to a bimini. Bolts coming through the bimini fabric, with a grommet and reinforcement. Then, put a rubber washer to keep most of the water out, and through the banel and then a nut of wing-nut. Light weight, low windage, and ??? durability?

I investigated the Solbian panels for this very use (on top of the targa.. walked on).

Mounting options were zipping it into the canvas shades, sticking it directly to a SMOOTH gelcoat with super-powered double-sided tape, or making a bed of adhesive on the non-slip gelcoat.

As my proposed area was used to manhandle the sail back into the lazy-jacked sailbag and is quite high, I was advised that the Solbian panels would be quite slippery under wet conditions. I decided it would be too hazardous.

Installed this 20W panel 4-5 years ago. Works well for keeping batteries topped up during extended absences. No way it would keep up with usage during a cruise, but it's only 20W.
Get the right regulator for the number of batteries you have.
Note that item is made in China
Walking on it is not a problem although I avoid stepping on when I can.
