Electrified Mooring Field? Mooring Power

Aside from the fish kills and the dead on metal boats can anyone think as to why there are no (that I have seen) electric pedistals, (ideally 30 amp and 50 amp). Perhaps we could call it "Mooring Power". Should I get a copyright on that term? I just made it up so it must be mine.

But I digress. Any thoughts about plugging in while mooring out?

Good luck keeping electrical leakage to zero with all the motion of water, wind etc and the resultant chafe and wear on the constantly flexing wire.

Moorings, usually charge less than marinas, but compared to a marina supplying power to moorings, would cost more, post more potential problems and have more costly and time consuming upkeep.

When I stay at a mooring, it's usually because anchoring isn't allowed, there isn't good holding or anchoring is destructive. It's not because I want what marinas have to offer.

Oh god please no. I'm on a mooring becuse I love being detached. Even when it's just for the moment. if this idea really appeals to you buy a bubbleboat or better yet get wiiboat and stay home. Get off the grid it ain't so hard. Please

I surveyed a boat in Lima, Peru where they had power at the moorings, so it has been done but I haven't seen it anywhere besides there. I have no idea how they did it. They must have all sorts of problems and of course the hugh liability of someone getting electrocuted.

I kindda thought I would get things going with this subject. Now we have addressed the lack of feasibility of delivering electric power with submarine cables to the moorings, how about we go we go aerial serviced by bucket boats??
