How can standards like USB1 or 2 be obsolete if there are still millions of devices out there using it and being plugged into whatever physically compatible USB port the user finds? Hence every compatible output has to be careful / negotiate how much current the end device can handle.

The argument of 20V is only relevant for USB-C and is covered in the Wiki as well.



So let's try and stick to the topic of "using a power bank for mobile phone charging", shall we?
