New happy owner

Hi all cruising friends,

I just bought a 380 in Croatia, ex charter boat in very good conditions.
Regardless, I intend to carry out a complete refit, including turning it into a 3 cabin version, will post some pics as i get along.

As my Australian registration came through on 23rd, I asked my custom agent to organize departure for 25th as the weather was improving, he mistakenly said that the border police would be closed on 25/26 Dec and that i had to go get cleared on 24th which we did.

I asked police to be allowed to leave after the bad weather, on 25th,but they categorically refused, threatened me of a big fine if i didn't leave Croatian territorial waters immediately and/or if I stopped on any island.

I left and got hit by a Northerly gale with gusts of 50kn and driving rain, just out of Sibenik. It last 3h, then I had a rough ride all the way to Bari in Italy, 28h after. 160NM, so 5.75 average, including one night at 3.5~4.5 just with 1/3 genoa (I was on my own and didn't know this boat).

I am thrilled with the performance and comfort of this little cat, no wander is the most sold cat around, and sadly going out of production.

Well done Stephano.. The 380 is my favourite production cat, solid and unlike its newer sisters sails well and is well laid out topsides..
Congratulations and hope your remodelling goes well.

Yeah 38 is great, we looked at it but it is just too small.

L 400 is also excellent in heavy weather.

Well done! I love cats but paying for two slips at a time is a deal breaker . . .

We love cats cos we don't need a slip, we anchor out so don't pay dockage at all.

Re: New happy owner

Ahoy there.

I am looking to buy a 125sqm Parasailor in good conditions.
+- 10sqm would be ok.

That's what was recommended by ISTEC.
In Italy ATM, but moving soon.
Please feel free to pass my info to anyone that might be considering selling his Para.
