Lagoon 42 Mast reduction

Hello all, has anyone done or thought about reducing the height of a Lagoon 42 mast to a ICW friendly mast height? Current height of 67'9" to 63', can this be done without compromising the standing rigging?
Thank you for all comments

What mast model it is? Zspar? If the mast head is one of those that can be removed by loosening the bolts, you can measure from where the cap shrouds end to the top of the mast, if you have 5 ft of clearance, it is possible, you will have to cut trim the mainsail.

Correct. We have done a lot of these over in the Tampa bay area. It's usually fairly simple, remove masthead (either cut or unbolt depending on the brand), shorten, shorten electrical etc, rebolt or weld masthead back on. Shorten mainsail - or replace depending on age. Most owners report no performance loss/difference.

Our Lagoon 450 rig was cut down 5'. This is the "Texas Rig" in order to get under the 73' ICW bridges from Texas to Pensacola, FL.

You should easily be able to cut it down to a mast head rig; not touching the standing rigging. The mainsail and any other furled spinnaker.

We're currently in the process now at BJYY in Annapolis. Mast is down and waiting on a new mainsail before restepping the mast. Will be ICW friendly and actually have more mainsail area.
