500: Buying a Lagoon 2007 500 or 440

Hi,
I am in the market for a Lagoon 440 or 500 I live in Queensland looking on the net is seems the better priced boats are in Greece or Italy a long way from home I have previously bought a 42ft Leopard from the BVI and sailed it back to Australia, and all went well with the purchase and that trip, if anything we had light winds for 95% of the trip and needed to motor sail. has anybody purchased in a boat in Italy are there any pit-fells to watch out for? and what would the trip by like back home be like

Alan,

With the med season starting up in the next couple of months, and the Caribbean season coming to an end you may find better deals in the Caribbean. I would say only do the Med thing if you want to sail the med...

Boat prices are low in the med right now because of the state of the Euro zone, and people are selling because they are a bit desperate... Often times sellers that are desperate let maintenance items slip...
