June & July SW FL to Dry Tortugas & Abaco Race Week

Boat is a very nice Westsail 28.

If small boats, no A/C, and the thought of a rain storm scare you, please stop reading and continue sitting at your office desk.

I am a licensed captain, and have done this trip a few times in my current boat and other boats. "Aqua Culture" is not the biggest boat out there, but she is clean and solid.

I am departing once again for two months in the Bahamas June 14th and have a few open spots along the way.

June 14: Depart Cape Coral, FL for Dry Tortugas National Park. 24 hour sail +-
June 15-20+- in Dry Tortugas National Park
June 20ish two day sail to Bimini
From Bimini stay as long as you want, and/or hitch a ride home.

A week or two in Bimini, we will make our way to the Abacos.

Stranded Naked Cheeseburger Party July 3rd on Fiddle Cay, and Abaco Race Week starts the next day.

Race Weeks ends July 11th in Hope Town, from there down to the Berrys for a few weeks, then Bimini, and Florida by late July.

I have it planned out so people can easily fly in and out if only doing a week or two.

Or do a month or two.

I am 31 years young, and my lil dog loves sailing. So if you can't be around dogs, sorry.

Re: June & July SW FL to Dry Tortugas & Abaco Race Week

Greetings:

I am experienced coastal cruiser with racing experience and limited offshore experience. I am pretty easy to get along and do not mind wind and rain. I am a teacher so I begin summer vacation on June 20th. I would love to come join you for a while. Maybe make a passage or two, maybe some racing. I have plenty of time.

I am forty-three and healthy.

I have attached my sailing bio. Please let me know if it fits your needs and if there are any possibilities to sail with you this summer.

Best,

Greg Allen

Re: June & July SW FL to Dry Tortugas & Abaco Race Week

My schedule might fit well, as I could come aboard in FL, the June 14th and stay through Bimini arrival, say through to (or about) end of June - flights depending. Have been owner/skipper of my own 37' Endeavor, so moderately experienced and have completed most of the course work for BBC certification - of course, need more blue water hours to qualify, that's where this fits in for me. BTW, I love dogs as much as I love sailing, especially those special dogs who also love sailing - they are remarkable, I'm sure your buddy is no exception.
Will PM with my more elaborate CV and "autobiography". Understand completely expectations and appropriate costs sharing and my own transportation responsibility (love those frequent flyer miles).
