Crew Wanted: Experienced skipper wanted

I am looking for an experienced skipper to sail 1000 nautical miles preferably in several stages along the US East Coast (I am Washington D.C. based). I would also consider to do a long haul passage, for example to US or British Virgin Islands.

Price to be negotiated.

I believe OP posted in the wrong forum. Instead of Crew Wanted, he should have posted in "Crew Available".

He is looking for a Skipper to take him as a crew so he can learn. Too bad he hasn't returned to clarify his position. But he has the final saying, I guess.

Many thanks for all the replies, much appreciated. The common remark was that it wasn't entirely clear what I am looking for so I try to clarify what I need:

- I am looking for a sailer with extensive expertice in ocean sailing
- Extensive experience = USCG/ASA licenced skipper or an extensive sailing CV
- Task: sail 1000 nautical miles on the ocean (18 days minimum, can be done in several steps), perform a number of manoevers, certify the completion of these manoevers, log book entries
- I will cover all the cost occuring for this excercise
- I am a European living in Washington DC. I am rather flexible but prefer someone who is based closer to the DC/Virginia/Maryland area (i.e. Annapolis, etc.)
- I currently don't have a boat. If the skipper has his own boat that is the preferred solution, alternatively I would charter a vessel

Beware of this guy who uses the name Nicholas Brody--which may be an avatar as in wikipedia.... "This is a list of characters appearing in the Showtime drama Homeland. .... At least myself and one other professional skipper tried to communicate with him and well, it seems fishy--but who can know for sure? Best to be wary.....he seems to be playing some kind of game....who knows?

There are some really funny guys in this forum who watch too many movies . I am not sure what my wife and kids would say to those threads, but hey, there seem to be many frustrated and bored people out there in the country ....

Anyway, thanks a lot for those of you who replied and offered their services. I will get in touch with you shortly so that we can talk by phone and meet in person so that we both can get a clear view on what I need for my skippers licence. Looking forward to those passages!
