trade trimaran for smaller boat

I have a 28 foot wooden SEACLIPPER 28 Trimaran. I have had it for a year, but have been unable to save up enough money to get it hauled out of the water and repaired. It needs two small holes patched, new bottom paint, and the winches re-attached. It hass sails, all the rigging. I have only been able to sail it once, but it needs the centerboard replaced as well. The repairs would beabout a thousand bucks. I would like to trade for a smaller 23, 24, 25 ft boat with a little cabin that is ready to go. My goal is to sail, and although my boat is faster and larger, I have been unable to save up enough. So i f there is someone out there with the means of fixing it, who wants a bigger way faster boat, give me a call. Cody at 813 340 9765 here is my blog on the boat,

thecommodoresmith.wordpress.com

this is my blog, it has the history, to do list, and pictures of the boat

also, i am willing to to the repairs if you trade at an hourly rate if you pay for materials. I know how to do them, I just don't have the money to do it

I feel for you. Took a look at your to do list. Just a suggestion, but why don't you beach it to fix the leaks, or maybe a homemade airbag to fix one hull at a time?
  • Find a marina with a boat lift that can handle an 18ft beam
  • Rebuild the centerboard
  • Re-attach winches
  • Figure out how to rig this boat, and where the traveler goes
  • Patch a hole in the starboard ama
  • Patch a hole in the port ama
  • Patch a hole in the vee berth
  • Get the deck to stop leaking
  • Figure out the roller furler
  • Get some charts…learn to read some charts…
  • Get a gps
  • Get an emergency beacon
  • Get an inflatable dinghy…ditch my leaky rowboat
  • Bigger Engine?
  • Scrape the bottom and repaint it
  • edit: watch out for gators!

Re: trade trimaran for smaller boat

the amas are fine, the holes are in the top, far above the waterline. thing is, finding a place to beach it on the st. johns river is next to impossible, beaching it and getting it four ft off the ground and dropping out the centerboard is way harder...

on top of that, i cant even afford the epoxy let alone bottom paint. I play banjo on the street for money for a living...

but yeah, no leaks to fix, just small holes that arent really holes, just cracks in the wood that would need to be cut out and replaced
