Seawind 1000, 1996 Hull #018, Extended to 37 ft.
We've loved the experiences we've had while living full time on this boat in the last year, but reluctantly we have to sell due to personal reasons. Valued at $141,000 during last year’s pre-purchase survey, we’re offering Sundog at $134,000 without a broker. We’re located in Stuart, Florida, which has easy access off the I-95 and Turnpike. Please contact us via email if you have any questions or want to view “Sundog”.
From the builder/dealer website:
"Designed to cope with the rugged and variable conditions of Australia’s coastline, the Seawind 1000 is widely considered a great ocean going yacht due to design features such as flared hulls for additional buoyancy, triple (note: double in our case) point reefed mainsail to easily de-power, and foam core construction for additional strength, just to name a few."
The Seawind 1000 is an excellent live aboard catamaran for the tropics and an excellent entertainment platform! For the daytime party, a large open foredeck with bench seating and two trampolines allow for great relaxation and unique views under sail. When you need to cool down, a drop down swim stair allows easy access to the crystal clear waters of the Bahamas, the San Blas Islands of Panama, or the Australian Gold Coast. The large bimini and vinyl enclosure provides plenty of protection from the tropical sun, but if you want some shade in the water grab a pool noodle and spend some time hiding between the hulls under the bridgedeck. If you feel like inviting half the anchorage over for sundowners, rum punch and chilled beers are enjoyed with plenty of seating to view the green flash.
This boat also sails well. An owner that regularly races a sister boat in Miami said that he regularly sails at, or near, wind speed in 10 to 15 knots. If you know how to sail it, this boat will fly!

May I suggest posting photos that are NOT wide angle? The barrel distortion of a wide angle lens renders them useless.

Thanks Snore. However, I disagree because while the image is distorted, you get more information into a single image than regular aperture lenses.
Please contact me if you'd like to see anything in more detail.

Good looking boat, glws.
On a photo-note though, yes, the wide-angle does give more overall picture, but just from a viewing standpoint, it does make the dimensions hard to see accurately, as the images do have that distortion to them. It's hard to look at the pictures and try to estimate sizes and distances as easily as regular. Just my .02, but I'm sure anyone interested will contact for specific pictures and information beyond what's here anyway

Add another one who dislikes such wide angle photography. Nevertheless it looks like a nice boat.

Thanks for the input and your good luck wishes Charlzo. I understand everyone's argument regarding the distorted effect but, for the initial viewing of a boat, I like to see what the overall condition is and the wide angle lens helps with that.
However, as you said, if someone is interested in the boat, I am more than happy to send more pictures taken with a regular lens or to show something in more detail.

Hello Wanderlust Steve. Thanks for your comment.
Considering the difficulty with distortion and dimensions of wide angle photography, what boat details would you, or anyone else, like to see taken with a regular lens?

Really? Wide Angle Photos? Are we in a Skating video?
I'm only teasing.
Nice looking Cat.

I suggest making a compromise between what can be seen in one frame and keeping camera introduced curves to a minimum. If you can't fit enough of the boat section into one photo, then make it two.
If a person is not familiar with a particular type of boat, then camera introduced curves make it difficult to visualise.

Was this boat "Don Quixote" in a previous incarnation?

Hello Snort,
"Don Quixote" is not a name I am familiar with in the history of this boat. When we bought her she was called "Azeroth", prior to that, "Susan M Jackson", and previous to that, I believe it was called "Blue Eyes". Beyond that, I'm not 100% sure but there was a "Poco Loco" sometime in the past as well.

Don Quixote is a newer Seawind with a custom hardtop. I think Lorry has the previous names all accounted for except for the early 2000's when she was owned by an airline pilot in St. Pete.
If people can't get an idea of the layout from the panoramic pictures I would suggest a google search as there a ton of pictures of the Seawind 1000 on the internet.

Thanks SMJ - AJ. Great suggestion for those people having problems with the wide angle images, or for those who want another view. Alternatively, as I said above, I am definitely more than happy to take other images and send them by email.
Regards,
Lorry
