It must ship by truck, but we can get you a discount on shipping.

The shipping agent /trucking company is determined by where we are shipping to. I am willing to personally deliver the engine using my pickup truck, within 100 miles of central CT USA - IF - you have a means to safely offload it. Delivery charge is $1 per mile. Contact me for details.

Shipping by a trucking company to a commercial address with forklift or loading dock is preferred. Alternately, we can ship to a truck terminal near you, making delivery convenient.

Shipping to a residence is expensive, and a hassle BUT we can do it if you insist.

Be honest with me? where did u get the engine, how old, I have the same one in my boat, it

I got this engine in a trade. It originally had a Borg Warner Velvet Drive transmission installed. The engine is being sold without a transmission.

I can supply a new or rebuilt Velvet Drive that includes a warranty, if you like. I may have the needed adapters / parts to install a Hurth / ZF unit on this engine, if you wish to use that type of trans.

I don't know it's history, and I need the room, that's why I priced it accordingly. Engine manufacturing date can be determined using the engine serial number.

I believe the 4.108 was discontinued about the late 1980's. The Caterpillar Tractor Co installed the 4.108 in their backhoes in the 1980's,and painted them Caterpillar yellow. I know this from experience, as I was a mechanic for Cat in the early 1990's. Joe

Thanks for the informed opinion, I was an ship engineer that worked on cat ele diesel, If I had some place where I could work on it, maybe ,but I am in north Carolina in a small town and no support around here ,marina here suck. Hope u can sell it.
