MacGregor 26M Sailboat & 70hp Powerboat (2007) US$29,950

We have moved on to our cruising sailboat, so it is time to let someone else enjoy this little gem of a coastal cruiser.

What's a MacGregor 26M? A very large, small trailerable sailboat (and 70hp powerboat...)

There are lots of details, photos and videos, and contact info on our personal web site for Second Wind.

We have enjoyed preparing her for, and sailing her in Alaskan waters the last few summers.

Second Wind is a very roomy [sleeps 4 adults], safe [double-hulled and positive buoyancy when flooded], comfortable [forced air heat] and at the same time small [trailerable and affordable] sailboat (and 70hp powerboat...)

Living 8 hours drive time from the water [in Fairbanks, Alaska] it is great having a trailerable sailboat we can maintain and store at home. We load up the boat at home so we can launch and go when we arrive at the water.

Its wonderful to launch the boat and motor out at 16+ knots to get away from the crowds; stop the engine, and start sailing...

The two of us go out for weeks at a time in Prince William Sound, Alaska. No marinas. No stores. She is quite roomy, comfortable and safe.

After a two year search, we found our next boat (a larger, ocean cruising sailboat) and so are now ready to part with our "Alaskanized" MacGregor 26M, Second Wind.

We bought her in 2011 from a professional big boat captain in Seattle, Washington. She was pristine when we got her (and still is...) with fewer than 200 hours on her 70hp Suzuki outboard engine. (We have added another ~150 more hours since then...) [Note that the MacGregor 26 came stock with a 50hp engine, some with a 60... the 70 makes a huge difference when loaded down with gear- the difference between getting on-step and slowly motoring around making lots of noise with the bow high in the air...]

We have owned several sailboats over the last 30 years and have always taken excellent care of our vessels. Second Wind is no exception.

We have 'Alaskanized' her to meet our standards of safety and comfort so she is ready to go. [We are veteran blue-water sailors so our standards are high...]

She is ready to hit the water and go.

See the What's Included page on our website for a list of our customizations, changes, and additions- including photos...

Our price is firm, and won't be lowered over time, so act now unless you don't really want to go boating this summer... You won't be disappointed. This is a great little sailboat!

If she doesn't find a new home before we depart Fairbanks this spring, we will take her with us to Wrangell in Southeast Alaska to use as our runabout and guest boat.

This boat has no issues and is very easy to obtain financing and insurance for. (We pay $246/year for $31,000 replacement value insurance- added to our State Farm homeowner's policy...)

We can deliver [for cost] within Alaska to anywhere on the road system (including Haines where she could be put on a ferry to points south.)

Serious, pre-qualified buyers may request a copy [from our website] of the comprehensive (23 page) pre-purchase survey we commissioned in 2011 when we purchased her.

Sale in process: We have received a full price cash offer with a signed purchase agreement and earnest money deposit.

This transaction should be concluded by early May when we deliver the boat.

While we have every expectation that this sale will be completed as planned, we will maintain this posting until then.
