Want To Buy: Liferaft

Hi,
My name is Richard, I am currently attending 313Media & Arts in Wollongong NSW, in the last year of my 'Screen' diploma course.
For my end of year assignment I have to complete a short film, I have unfortunately writing a short film that incorporates a liferaft, I say unfortunately as I have spend the last couple of months searching online, ebay, amazon & local markets for a secondhand liferaft without any luck.
I am posting in the hope that someone may have a damaged, old, or returned raft that I may be able to purchase for a maximum of $200 + postage? It only needs to be small and does not even really have to float.

I would be very grateful if you can offer any assistance, I would be more then willing to include your name in the credits as this is all I can really offer.

I have one. Where are you located as shipping overseas will be very difficult as it contains compressed air

If you only want to film it and not damage it you may be able to borrow one that is time ex and needs to be serviced.
Try contacting RFD or one of the other shops that service life rafts.
Otherwise there should be heaps of old ones that people need to get ride of for free.
My raft's not due for another year so I'm afraid I can't help you till then.

Thank you both very much for your reply. You have been most helpful.
Unfortunately the script involves the cutting up of the raft as it is a survival story, so I do not think I could return a raft undamaged.
Chris I would be very grateful if you had a raft I could obtain off you.
I am located in Thirroul, NSW Australia. I would be happy to travel anywhere within NSW to pick it up.

The life raft services companies end up with rafts that they condemn as unserviceable. They'd probably be happy to give you one.

I have had some luck with a 'local' distributor who is kindly offering me one of his condemned show room items.
