1985 38' Endeavour CC

Beautiful 1985 Endeavour E38, designed by Johan Valentijn.
My wife and I bought her in 2010 and outfitted her with all new navigation electronics, added an all new custom aluminum enclosure, and all new solar panels, charge controller and batteries. We also purchased many, many more items to make her completely cruiser ready. We sailed her comfortably from Miami to Bocas Del Toro, Panama. Please feel free to check out our blog of the entire trip at Salty Dog Cruising | Biased accounts of the adventures of the Salty Dog Sailboat . We had the trip of a lifetime and our trusty boat took care of us the whole way.
Our plans changed in Panama and our new adventure is a baby boy due in May . I wish I could afford both the baby and the boat but hopefully someone will pick up where we left off and treat her the way she deserves. Feel free to message me with any questions. The boat is currently located in Bocas Del Toro, Panama. We are asking considerably less than we put into it in the hopes of a quick sale. 49,500 obo.

for photos, please see our blog:

Re: 1985 38' Endeavour CC

The engine unfortunately does not have an hour meter. It is the original 44hp 4JHE engine but I have had it looked at and maintained by mechanics and have never had problems with it. I have personally changed the oil regularly and just changed out the impeller in July 2011. I have the original owners manual and tool kit. It starts right away and runs great.

I also do not have information on when the rigging was last changed. The rigging was just professionally inspected in October 2010 (before I left on my cruise) and I have documentation showing it was reported to be in good condition.

Re: 1985 38' Endeavour CC

I enjoyed reading your blog and wish you happiness in your new life. Is the dinghy and outboard included with the boat? I also noticed a price drop in your ad on Panama Craigslist? What are the costs of keeping the boat at Bocas? I've heard that there are some inexpensive places to keep a boat on the Pacific side but I don't know what costs are like for long term storage at Bocas?
Thanks,
Kevin.

Re: 1985 38' Endeavour CC

Sorry for the delay in responding IceDog, our son was just born 2 weeks ago and its been pretty hectic. Yes, I did recently drop the price in the craigslist Panama ad. I am looking for a quick sale (baby's here) so I thought I would give my low number in order to expedite the process. I am currently having a friend watch the boat at his place but I know there are some relatively inexpensive places in or near Bocas to keep a boat (Red Frog Marina, Bocas Marina, Isla Solarte, Marina Carinero, etc...). When we lived there we were always on the hook so I dont know exactly what they charge. I do know that it is a great place to live. Thanks for the interest and please let me know if you have any more questions.

Congratulations Ted on your new baby. I won't be back in Central America until October but Salty Dog seems like a good value for the money.
