1977 Pearson P30

This Pearson P30 is located in Holland, Michigan at Eldean Shipyard. It has always been a fresh water boat. It has a petrol Atomic 4.

Asking price is $10,000 OBO.

We bought this boat a few years ago to try out sailing and we loved it. However, plans change and the water around the Bahamas is shallow making a Panga a better fit. So, it is time for Kharon to go to a new owner.

When we purchased this boat, it had not been touched with any cleaning compound for years. Actually, it was a storage space for every conceivable cleaning product! Unfortunately, most were never used and we ended up spending the first season ridding the vessel of years of neglect and along with replacing most of the running rigging and dock line.

We have spent the last few years doing the following:
-The plywood companionway door was scrapped and replaced with a custom Ipe (Brazilian hardwood) door.
-The gunk filled Monel fuel tank was replaced with a new plastic tank.
-The mildew was removed and, where practical, painted with bilge white paint.
-New cockpit cushions were made.
-The cabin cushions were discarded and new cushions were made.
-The original dark cabin wood was painted with light colors.
-The deteriorating battery box was reconstructed and the associated electrics were replaced.
-The original Pearson electrics were replaced with Blue Seas electric panels.
-A Raymarine radio was added.
-A Sony stereo and speakers were added.
-The non-functional stove was replaced with a new model.
-A new tiller handle has been made out of Ipe (not installed)
-New electric bilge pumps are being added, but are not plumbed yet.
-All 110v has been removed and replaced with high efficiency 12v fixtures.
-A new Blue Seas 25A battery charger is included, but not installed yet.
-A new battery bank has been installed.
-A new floor has been installed in the cabin.
-There are two sets of functional sails included...neither is that great.
-A new Raymarine E7D multifuctional display is included, but not installed yet.

270 view and no inquiries?...c'mon. I know it isn't a dream vessel, but it isn't a POS either and besides, it does say OBO!
