Our boat is in a marina and faces due west so we get the afternoon sun streaming in making very hot, so here is a photo of out "tent" that solves the problem

We now have the ability to fully enclose the helm station. Windows and door zip off if needed but give great shelter from the sun and rain as needed

The tent across foredeck even looks good. Would appear that the design of it took a lot of consideration. Very nice. I will be needing a similar solar shelter on my Mahe docked in Miami. 1 question; why so close to the deck?

I was concerned about having it too high if there are strong winds around and it acting like a sail, and unless I went to some sort of frame it was difficult to find attachment points that would give me more height. We have a pair of bean bags we use on the for deck and the height is more than adequate. We use the Spinnaker halyard to lift it in the middle. As it is a mesh we get good airflow but also privacy. You could cut it lots of ways but this works for us.

Not sure the name but it's a very fine mesh same as we used for the rest of the screens except the screens have clears inside that can be rolled up for ventilation. Really nice stuff as you can see out but not in. Here is a close up photo so you can get the idea

I have sailed Seawinds, Lipari, Orana and many other cats and wish cruising cats could achieve those angles. Having also sailed racing cats which get into the 30's sometimes I dream about how I could add a daggerboard to improve upwind performance on my Lipari but enjoy the speeds I get when I can ease off & sail at 50 or 60 degrees.

Would be interested in photos / details of the improvements you have made to anchor locker. Mine always ends up like a garage sale at the end of the day.

I've done a small amount of research on the parasailor. looks like a very practical sail. I am here in San Diego, and have a pretty flexible schedule. My small Bayliner is at Sun Harbor and I get down there once a week or more.

Anyway, I'd welcome the chance to help you get the sail working the way you like. I talked to Monte today - he may be calling as well re: an upcoming trip to Oakland.

Yes, I have a parasailor. My wife and I have flown it a few times. We are working on permant rigging. We are at sun harbor also.

Looks like my next trip to SF is
not going to happen for good reasons.

I'm wondering if anyone has a owners manual for a Lipari 41.

I only recieved a minimum amount of information when I bought my 2011 owners version, hull no.57 around a year ago and it's all poor quality photocopies and in French!

I have the cd that came with mine (mainly doco in PDF format) Even though it's an evolution model I believe most of the info is the same. I'll be back at the boat late June. Happy to either mail you a copy or email the files. Let me know if no-one else can help before then.

I have hull 59 and have all the manuals in English plus the full electrical details which I cajoled out of FP (gives details of all the cable Nos and usage) plus the spreadsheet of load calculations that they used for the certification.
