opencpn reset itself?

i'm running opencpn/openplotter on rpi2,it has been running great until this weekend.
I turned it on and i got the welcome to opencpn 4.8.2 splashscreen which i don't normally get, after i closed that,my location was shown as somewhere in florida,my plugins had all dissappeared,my charts have disappeared from opencpn but are still in the charts folder and all settings seem to have reverted to default.
the only thing that appears to be still present from earlier sessions are a couple of routes i was planning.

any ideas on how to get all my settings, plugins and charts back without doing it manually?

cheers in advance

Re: opencpn reset itself?

You can't, unless you made a backup.

The Rpi is a great little computer, but the SD card gets easy corrupted by a power dip/failure, or just worn out. And this time it was the config file that was not falid anymore, causing O to make a new one with default settings.

Re: opencpn reset itself?

opencpn.config is indeed holding all the settings, although some plugins might have there own config files.

opencpn.conf for the settings and navobj.xml for your tracks, routes, waypoints.
