Toolbar has lost it's transparency.
There is no transparency in traditional toolbar or the other ones.

Works here: Win XP-SP3, opengl=off. What is your system like?

I can confirm : no transparency with GL on (XP)
when GL on the parameter in toolbox/Etc. is deactivated.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.714 Released

Try to compile 3.1 from 'master' It doesn't work (error in tc file) , but anyway I could test active routes console after fix .
OK for journeyman and journeyman flat styles (with a big but limited font size )
Value color OK for traditional style but rectangle still here , visibility depends of the screen and brightness To hide it I have to set width and height to 0 (or to expand the icon zone as it has been done for the others styles)
A Remarque : I understand the willing to have another background that the black one , but why give a limit to the font size ?

This is the correct behavior. Transparent toolbar is not supported with OpenGL.

No need to report master branch errors on the 3.1beta forum. Master branch can be broken in many ways at any point in time. When it is someone is working on it.

Sorry, forgot about the rectangle bit. It will get removed.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.714 Released

Attention all you skilled testers!

I have a problem that I can't get any grip on, let's see if anyone else is better.

Some font settings are sometimes lost. As soon as I try to track this problem down, everything works fine. And then I go off to test other stuff, and after a while I suddenly notice some font setting has reverted back to default.

If anyone have seen this, and can identify a pattern or situation where it repeatably happens, I would be most grateful.

The right click menu still offers to Show CPA, but this, of course, changes nothing. The menu entry should really offer to hide the CPA line i such a case.

Thomas,

thanks for testing, I fixed it. I'll do some testing over the weekend and upload the patch to github.

The original thought with the font settings across different language settings was apparently to allow one set of fonts for each language. Which is nice since not all fonts support all character sets...

The implementation had a few glitches tough, which caused for example the problems you experienced above.

I hope I have cleaned this up a bit for the next beta. It will keep settings from different languages better separated, so you will only see the fonts you are using in your current language in the settings dialog. Settings from other languages will still be saved, and used again when you switch back to that language. I also fixed a potential problem where font descriptions containing some characters could mess up the config file (This happened with the Swedish translation for example). Now any character is allowed in the translated font description.

Since the format of the font entries in the config file has changed, the font settings from previous versions will need to be redone, but I hope that's an acceptably small price to pay for much more robust handling of this in the future.

Cagney,
just to make sure we're talking about the same thing :
The quote above happens in case of a real CPA alarm ?

If so : the longer I think about it, the more I hesitate ... Should we really offer an option to remove the CPA line in case of a real CPA alarm ?
I don't think so, I'm tending more to hide the menu ...
