KAP files problem

I downloaded a bunch of KAP files recently and Opencpn does not want to display them properly. They show as a basic green layout, without any details what so ever.
I have kap files for NZ and AUS also, but these come with BSB files and display fine
The Opncpn manual under "Chart formats" states that BSB files are not used
What can I do to fix the display of these KAP files?

It complains if you have an ad blocker in place

Nothing wrong with those geo-referenced sat pics.
However....they have a very large scale ~1:8000, which means you have to zoom way in to see them.
Activate the Chart Outline by hitting the "O" key, which makes it easier to locate them.

I did what you suggested and sure enough It shows sat pics. They show the cursor position, so I presume they are GPS correct and navigable.
What I actually expected was standard charts similar to cm93, but in kap format.
If you try to open them with "Open with" and choose the default as Opencpn, it does not work,

I created those KAP charts from satellite imagery and posted them online for download. They were created using the GE2KAP program for a friend that sailed there. You can find more of these (focused on SE Asia) and many other items at Terry 's Topics.
